Motivations of Second Language Learning: Application of L2 Motivational Self System in the EFL Classroom

Second language (L2) motivation as a factor that facilitates effective learning has been the focus of research in field second teaching and learning. Particularly for EFL learners, L2 may draw crucial impact on their outcomes. Employing Dörnyei’s motivational self system (L2MSS) theoretical framework, this paper explored influence learners' L2MSS achievements by reviewing discussing three current empirical studies evaluating application classroom. This finds ought-to L2-self drew more intensive learners’ outcomes than ideal L2-self. However, made direct contribution to intentions. The classrooms is worth being encouraged assist teachers be enhancing learn language, leading better higher achievements.
